Live online training information
This is how you can participate in Online Training of Forsa Advies without any worries.
If you prefer an online, live project or change management training, the virtual classroom is ideal for you. Below you will find all information on what it is and how you can participate.
The possibilities in our live online training
Our live online training in our virtual classroom tool offers possibilities to:
- to present and share your screen
- see and hear each other as well as the trainer
- communicate via chat if, for example, your microphone is on mute
- raise your hand digitally to indicate the trainer that you want to say or ask something
- separate in groups and work out assignments or ideas on a digital whiteboard
- create quiz questions
- and so on
It is important that you use the right hardware and software for the best experience
What you need:
- a good webcam and microphone. A headset with a microphone is ideal.
- a good internet connection. If you test your connection at www.fast.com or www.speedtest.nl or use the test from your local provider. If you score over 10 Mbps, your connection is fine.
- a recent version of Chrome or Firefox as a browser.
- no extra software or plugin needed!
- a suitable laptop or PC. You can check this yourself: https://smart.newrow.com/room/testPage/ and see the specifications for suitable software in detail via this link: https://support.newrow.com/en/article/newrow-smart-recommended-system-requirements.
Note: we recommend that you do NOT log in from a Citrix environment as it is not suitable for video and sound.
Necessary preparations before the session
- follow the session in a room where you are alone and undisturbed. Also, do not sit in a room with fellow students as the sound will ‘howl’ and beep.
- check your hardware components against the above criteria.
- start logging in on time to test whether everything is working properly on your side, at least half an hour in advance.
- there is not really a dress code, we assume that you do not appear in your pyjamas ? (seems to happen according to blogs, so just to be sure)..
What to do during the Online Training sessions?
- Put your phone on silent and put it away completely. You will need all your attention to properly follow the training. Texts and phone calls in between make that impossible. That is not convenient for you, but also for the rest of the group.
- If there is any background noise (because you eat something or type something), turn off your microphone.
- The trainer will take a break approximately every 45 minutes. Then move for a while.
- Let each other finish talking as much as possible, it can get messy in discussions faster than in a normal classroom.
- If you gradually have problems with, for example images or sound, you can often still have contact via chat. So, look at the chat box and we can help you that way.
- Keep as few tabs and other programs open as possible during the session.
- If you feel during the session that the connection is slow or stuttering, you can use the “hide webcams” option to improve it.
