Required study hours and study method

Apart from the class hours, a total of approximately sixteen hours of self-study are required for daily course preparation and exam preparation. You are facilitated by our detailed course materials and e-learning solution, and if you enrol in time, you can start your preparations well before the course starts.

The course consists of presentations of the theory, interactive discussions and delegate exercises, as well as topics that are introduced by the attendees during the training course. These practical exercises will help you use PRINCE2 successfully.

During the course theory is translated into basic practice. The training is active and offers variety in types of exercises such as interactively discussing theory, working on cases together in small groups and testing your knowledge in a pop quiz.

Courseware

The courseware consist of the presentation, a case, exercises and sample answers. Additionally, you will receive the official, digital PRINCE2 7 manual: Managing successful projects with PRINCE2TM. Moreover, you will gain access to our online environment with hundreds of Foundation questions.

Follow-up training

After having completed this training course you can further enhance your knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method, and start applying what you have learned in the PRINCE2 Practitioner training.

Examination

After attending this training course and some additional self-study you will be prepared for the official AXELOS PRINCE2 7 Foundation exam. The Foundation exam duration is 60 minutes, and is a closed books exam. It consists of 60 multiple choice examination questions. You need 36 marks out of 60 available marks to pass (60%). Exams are provided with permission of AXELOS.

You can take the official online, proctor exam after the course. You have one year to take the exam at a time and location of your choice. Read more about how it works and what you need for a proctor exam on our proctor page.

Proof of attendance and official certificate

When you pass the exam you will receive the official, digital PRINCE2 7 Foundation AXELOS certificate. Next to this you will receive proof of attendance if you have actively attended 75% or more of the course dates.

  The four-day IPMA PMO training delivered by Douwe Brolsma was an exceptionally enjoyable and highly educational experience. From the very first moment, he managed to capture my attention, and he maintained that engagement consistently throughout all four days. What truly sets him apart is his ability not only to explain the material clearly, but to genuinely bring it to life. Instead of relying on dry theory, he used interactive and thoughtfully designed exercises that allowed us to actively work with the content. This approach generated energy within the group and led to a much deeper understanding and stronger retention of the material. By practicing and experiencing the concepts ourselves, the topics became concrete and practically applicable. While training days can often be intensive and draining, he achieved quite the opposite. He had an excellent sense of the group’s energy level. Whenever concentration started to dip, he would flexibly adjust the program and introduce an energizer. These activities were never random or disconnected; they were always aligned with the learning objectives. As a result, the content was reactivated and reinforced in a way that felt natural and effective. He was also highly flexible in structuring the program. He paid close attention to the questions arising within the group and was willing to adjust the schedule when necessary. Occasionally, a question would relate to a topic planned for a later session. Rather than postponing it, he would address it immediately if the need was there. This created a natural learning flow and a strong sense of customization. On a personal level, he also excels. He handles different personalities within the group with ease and creates a safe and open learning environment.
